Why\Problem Solved: Unfortunately Steelbooks don't live up to their name in durability. Depending on finish etc they can be relatively easy to scuff or scratch. Protectors like these help protect your investment and keep your collection looking new.

Product: Tarifold Bluray Sleeves
Why\Problem Solved: Depending on space, you may not be able to shelve every title in your collection. These sleeves offer a nice alternative. You simply remove the art work and fold along the existing crease lines and place the disc in and file.

  • One of my favorite movie youtube channels has a great video showing these off.
  • For extra protection I use cheap paper sleeves like these. Especially when a title has DVD or Bonus feature disc included.
  • Storage baskets like these fit these protectors great.

Product: Bluray Resealable Sleeves
Why\Problem Solved: Slipcovers and even standard cases can get dinged up over time. Coming from a comic collecting background I wanted the equivalent to old school polybags for my movies. These keep your titles looking sharp and protected.

  • These fit many but not ALL slip cases. Other sleeves are available to fit larger titles. You may just need to search them out.

Shelves

Storage: Atlantic Oskar Shelves
Why\Problem Solved: You have to store and organize your physical media. I like these as they are shallower than a normal book shelf and are purpose built for movie storage. They were easy to build and have held up well.

Why\Problem Solved: These go in areas where you can't put a full size wall shelf. Easy to build and hang and they're pretty much bullet proof.

3d Printables

3D Printing is another of my hobbies and I'm often able to combine the two by printing things the compliment my physical media collecting. Here are some of the more useful prints I've found and use.

Steel Book Wall Mounts:
Why\Problem Solved: Cheap easy way to display some of your favorite steelbooks. Also fits Blurays with slipcovers well.

Now Playing Stand:
Why\Problem Solved: Fun way to display the movie you're currently watching and keep the case in a handy place to put away when finished.

Cataloging Tools

Software: CLZ
Why\Problem Solved: When you grow your collection beyond a few titles you need a system for keeping track. Without it you lose dics, buy doubles and can never find what you're looking for. This is far and away the best software I've used for tracking collections. I also use their Comics and Book versions. They also are one of the few who offer software you can run locally as well as cloud offerings. I use both and keep them in sync.
